Stop Time: N/A

Special Stuff: Just chillin'
Our campsite is located just beside the 18th hole of a golf course. There seems to be a Scottish themed golf tournament going on - the players are wearing kilts. It is quite windy...so it is easy to confirm that yes, the men are wearing shorts under their kilts.
Today, being a rest day, we head into Charlottetown for a few hours - keeping things low key.
We get pedicures. I get my toenails painted orange - the same colour as my bike. I had my nails done before I started the ride, but most of them peeled off one day after my feet were soaked and wet for many, many hours.
Brian gets a haircut, we enjoy some seafood (mussels and fried fish) and walk around town a bit. Charlottetown has many older buildings - it is a city with character. At the grocery store I'm happy to see that they have recognized the August 12th "National Middle Child Day" on their Event Board.
I spend a bunch of time today fine tuning the details for the rest of the ride. I'm impressed with how flexible I've been with letting the ride evolve naturally. There are so many factors and moving parts that doing a lot of advanced detailed planning can be a waste of time and energy. I think for a two-week ride, it makes sense to get into the details, but a 3 month ride it isn't really worth it (for me anyways).
It looks like there are no more long rides. I am in no rush to get to the ferry - if I push it hard, I'll just be sitting in North Sydney waiting for my departure. From here on, the only thing I need to be mindful of is getting out of the heat earlier in the day - it looks like it will spike up in a few days.

That is me showing my muscles off
