Day 6 - Osoyoos - Rest Day

I had an AMAZING sleep - warm and cozy. So grateful for the sleeping bag liner - it performed well by keeping me toasty warm. Emergency hot packs not required.
Today is a rest day and I'm bored. I'm itching to keep on going - to get some more miles clocked, but I know this is a long term investment.
I spend the morning trying to sort out my technology. Creating blog posts on my computer is super easy, but creating them on my phone and ipad mini is a whole other challenge. Super big learning curve - AND - I think some things just can't be overcome. On the ipad, I need to type every letter with my pointer finger or stylette, uploading of photos takes 15 minutes, and there is a limit on how many images I can upload. Sigh. For anyone who likes to get things done efficiently, you can imagine the frustration. AND...I remind myself...I have absolutely nothing else to do - just chill.
It is easy to forget how many bugs there are when tenting. This site seems to have A LOT of them. As I'm trying to figure out my IT issues, I'm having a coffee. For some reason (thankfully) I look at my cup as I'm about to go in for a drink - and I find I am not alone in my love for the good stuff!! I had to take a picture - I can only imagine my response if I'd made contact (it could easily have been full-on hysteria).
Today I also get to do my laundry - yay - 2 hours of device charging time with a purpose! Even though I've paid for a full-service site, I cannot charge my devices as the connection is only for RVs (30 amp connection or something like that). I have been reduced to lurking around the laundry room and bathroom power outlets to charge my devices that are essential for navigation and safety.
At some point in the day, a couple passing by my campsite ask me about my camper. They assume the 36 foot camper next me (which is also hauling a boat) is mine. I chuckle...and point to my tent - they move on quickly after a few words of apology.
The neighbours on the other side invite me for peppermint tea. I assess the situation and figure it should be safe to have some tea with them. They are a husband and wife couple visiting B.C. from Scotland. The husband enjoys biking on the trails in his home country where Scots have the 'right to roam'. They have really enjoyed the beauty and landscape of B.C. It was so nice to sit with them and chat for a bit - I'm so glad they invited me.

Overall I'm feeling great. I did tweak my knee riding into Osoyoos yesterday...I'm going to need to keep an eye on that - really focus on positioning to maximize my glute power while riding.
Tomorrow is the big hill out of Osoyoos - the pathway of which I've been studying as trucks, cars and busses have been climbing it over the past day and a half. I'm feeling that I've got what it takes to get the job done - I've been waiting to take on THIS challenge for months - bring it on!
