Getting Ready to Cross Canada

For the past many months, I have been preparing my mind, body and spirit for an amazing journey to cross Canada by bike. As you might imagine, it has been a daunting job - one that I've taken on with curiosity, interest, and let's be honest, some anxiety (my great motivator).

I'm buzzing with anticipation as I'm pulling all the pieces and parts together. I am ever grateful for the patience of those I connect with regularly who get to hear me talk on and on and on about every detail of trip preparations.

Months of preparation have now turned into weeks - 15 weeks to be precise.

That equates to 45 more gym workouts and 5 more trips to the nail salon.

The photo is from my Saturday, January 24th, 2026 ride from along "0" Avenue (Peach Arch Crossing to Costco in Abbotsford). Mount Baker is off in the distance.

At 55, I'm carving out some 'me' time to bike across Canada.

  • "Do I know anything about long haul biking?" Nope...well, I'm learning.

  • "Are you physically fit?" Nope...well, I'm getting there.

I'm super lucky to be backed up with a supportive cheer squad of my husband, children, family and friends  - and a growing community of supporters around the world.

As I travel, I'm looking forward to documenting my travels (I love to write) and expressing my creativity through photography and free style expression (TBD).

Thank you for joining me as I explore Canada, push my limits, and embrace the beauty that this land has to share.
