My companion is fully assembled and road ready!

My beautiful burnt orange Fairlight Faran 3.0 arrived from the UK on January 10th (after 5 months of waiting). https://fairlightcycles.com

Over the past month and a bit, I've been pulling together the pieces and parts to get ready for longer road rides. I think I'm there now.

A few spins around town and up the hills have been amazing. After riding a mountain bike for decades, this is a sweet ride. There's a lot of re-programming of my brain to switch gears and to be able to stop. I'm gradually getting used to it.

Zach at Drop Bar Cycle helped to assemble the bike for me. Big shout out to Zach for being so supportive and sharing great tips and helping me to make some valuable connections. https://seatoskybicycles.ca/

My bike has been fit by a professional bike fitter - Noa Deutsch. She has been instrumental in ensuring I've got the right bike for the trip - and it's fit perfectly to me - to minimize the potential for injury. I'm ever so grateful to have made this connection with Noa.

I wish I'd known that bike fitting was even a thing years ago!

At 55, I'm carving out some 'me' time to bike across Canada.

  • "Do I know anything about long haul biking?" Nope...well, I'm learning.

  • "Are you physically fit?" Nope...well, I'm getting there.

I'm super lucky to be backed up with a supportive cheer squad of my husband, children, family and friends  - and a growing community of supporters around the world.

As I travel, I'm looking forward to documenting my travels (I love to write) and expressing my creativity through photography and free style expression (TBD).

Thank you for joining me as I explore Canada, push my limits, and embrace the beauty that this land has to share.

Feel free to reach out to me at visscher@ymail.com.
